Sauna and skin conditions

Going to the Sauna with a Skin Condition

In general, visiting the sauna is not harmful to your skin. If your skin condition is not contagious, there's no reason to avoid the sauna. In some cases, a visit to our sauna may even reduce your symptoms.

The heat of the sauna causes various physiological changes in the body, such as an increased heart rate and the dilation of blood vessels. This improves circulation, which benefits the skin. With regular sauna use, you may notice that your skin becomes softer and more even.

Sauna and Eczema

There is no scientific research proving that sauna use has a positive effect on eczema. Experiences vary widely — some people report an improvement in symptoms, while others notice worsening. Keep in mind that the sauna’s heat may also influence the effects of any medication you're taking. If you’re under medical supervision, we recommend consulting your doctor before your sauna visit.

Cellulite and the Sauna

As with eczema, there is no scientific evidence that sauna use reduces cellulite. However, regular sauna visits can have a positive impact on your metabolism and blood circulation. This supports the removal of waste products, which may contribute to slight improvement. Sauna use will not worsen cellulite.

It’s known that deep tissue massages and detox treatments can help. Feel free to ask one of our staff members for more information. They’ll gladly help you choose the right option.
